A lot of people like to dive into a cover letter and write down every skill they’ve ever had. While this might seem like it’s a good idea, you’re actually making things worse for yourself. There are so many skills you’ll have that are not going to be relevant to the job. If you’re applying to be an architect, the company doesn’t need to know that you can plank for 10 minutes straight! Stick to the skills that are relevant to the job at hand.
