Become a babysitter
Okay, we’ve all seen The Incredibles and know what happens when humans who are barely older than a child themselves are given the job of looking after children. Basically, it didn’t end well – especially when Syndrome got involved. However, becoming a babysitter is actually an awesome way to make money through college. If you look after young children, you will get paid to make sure they don’t wake up or cause any trouble, while getting on with your college work at the same time. What could be better?
Become a tutor
If you’re barely scraping by with your college grades, becoming a tutor might not be the best idea for you – but if you can string a few sentences together and add up a few sums, becoming a tutor could be an enjoyable and educational way to earn a few bucks here and there. Yep, this job actually exists – and we’re pretty upset that you’re not already a personal shopper! Most of the time, you can pick and choose your start times, and shifts are often quite short. You really can have your cake and eat it too.

If you speak to literally anyone at college, we can guarantee that every single one of them would do anything to grab themselves an internship, which means that it’s not always easy to score one for yourself. However, if you are able to find yourself a paid internship, you’re set for life. You’ll learn valuable skills within the professional world, you’ll meet people who can set you up with jobs after college, and you can earn as you learn. It’s the best.
Become your own boss
While becoming your own boss and creating your own business while at college may sound like the words of a madman, it could actually be one of the best decisions you ever make. Of course, it may be a struggle to get your business up and running, but if it’s associated with your college major, you may be onto a winner. Study sports science at college? Why not set up your own personal training business? Not only do you earn money, but you also get the chance to be an ‘independent business owner’ which sounds pretty fancy.
While we all know that college is expensive, it doesn’t have to break the bank and leave you penniless. In fact, there are numerous ways to make money in college without having a full-time job!
