Success can mean different things to different people, but when it comes to financial success the chances are most of us have the same vision of a flashy car and big house, right? Sometimes all we need is the reassurance we can make it from paycheck to paycheck, but is a Bachelor’s degree really necessary to succeed financially?

Nowadays, it seems as though you can study for a degree in just about anything you imagine in the world. However, you don’t always have to go to college to get that degree. No, there are so many online courses you can take from the comfort of your own home that will not only get you the same results, but they usually come at half the final bill and without the years of studying in between. Sure, you might not get the chance to throw a cap at the end of it all, but is that all that is pulling you towards getting your Bachelor’s degree?
Not every career needs a degree
Not every career in the world needs a degree. In fact, jobs such as real estate don’t necessarily require any training at all. All you need is enough money to purchase your first home, and maybe a few extra bucks to splash on the inside, and you have got yourself your first investment. Then, as soon as you have flipped the home for a (hopeful) profit, you can move on to the next bigger and bigger building until you are rolling in financial success. It’s almost too good to be true.
Debt can hold you back
As much as these Bachelor’s degrees might offer up some of the best years of your life at college while you study and could potentially give you a step up in your career, they also come along with years worth of debt. Yup, that’s right; even in the decades after you have completed your degree, the chances are you’ll still be paying for that piece of paper that says you’re an expert. You might be ahead in your career, but this can severely hold you back financially.
Degrees become useless
Sadly, as time continues to tick by, so does the use of many degrees. People that have trained for years could soon find themselves with degrees that no longer mean a thing thanks to the technological advancements that have been made over the years. As much as a degree could have once given you a launch forward in the working world, it now seems as though it could also be the thing you have to pay for the rest of your life but never get to use. Ouch.
So, is a Bachelor’s degree really necessary?

Although they can be a great way to propel yourself into the world of work and potentially get you a higher paid job from the get-go, degrees can also have their major drawbacks. After all, but the time you have paid off your education, you could be earning less than someone that never went to college. However, that doesn’t mean these degrees don’t have their place in the world and can have some significant payoffs.
While a degree could give you the answer you’re looking for, it isn’t the only way that someone can succeed financially in this world. In fact, there are many ways we can still be raking in the cash without ever setting foot in a college. Bonus!
