Buckingham Palace was first built back in 1703 by John Sheffield, and it hasn’t always been a part of the Royal Family.
In fact, it wasn’t until 1761 when George III purchased the property for his wife that it entered the prestigious family. Fast forward a few years and Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II’s grandmother, was the first one to use Buckingham Palace as a home in 1837. It has been a home to the Royals ever since.
