This university was first established in 1963 and was first a women’s-only university until 1963 when they decided to transform their college into a co-educational institution. Nowadays, the college mainly focuses on behavioral sciences, media studies, social sciences and international programs and has become a leading name in these fields. Because of this, Pitzer College accepts only 13% of its applicants each year.
