The Love Boat was just the start of Jill Whelan’s career, and the fame it brought her changed her life. Whelan made an appearance in the comedy film Airlplane! while The Love Boat was still on the air, and then later went on to become the face of Nancy Reagan’s “Just Say No” anti-illicit substance campaign. She had a number of subsequent film and television roles, and then went on to be the Celebrations Ambassador for Princess Cruises, a fitting position for a former Love Boat star.
