Kelly spent her youth in the town of Fort Worth, Texas. While attending middle school, the school’s choir teacher overheard Kelly singing in the hallway and asked her to audition. Just like that, she was hooked, and performed as the lead in every school musical up until her high school graduation. After graduation, Kelly worked multiple jobs in order to pay for a demo. She received contracts from Jive records and Interscope Records, but turned them each down stating, “I was confident enough that something better would come along.” And she was right…
