A ballerina’s life is marked by discipline, sacrifice, and a lot of hard work. They can only count on their own willpower to always push themselves further – but it doesn’t hurt to also ask for some outside luck, right?
At the Royal Ballet School, in London, it’s a tradition for students to touch the left forefinger of the bronze statue of legendary dancer Margot Fonteyn. A ballerina’s touch is soft and gentle, but years of the repetitive motion have left its mark on the statue.
