Throughout history, there have been countless amounts of people who have lost their lives due to devastating tragedies such as natural disasters, plane crashes, stunts gone wrong, car accidents, shootings, and fires – just to name a few. However, every now and then, a horrifying event gets caught on camera – capturing the victim’s final moments.
The following photos, which are both shocking and chilling, were taken just minutes, sometimes even seconds, before tragedy struck. It is truly heart-wrenching to see what people looked like before the terrible incident took place – unaware of the terrifying fate that awaited them. On February 4, 2015 disaster struck in Taiwan. A domestic plane of TransAsia Airways that was carrying 58 people crashed into the Keelung River just moments after taking off. Hundreds of people witnessed the horrifying event and couldn’t believe their eyes as they watched the giant plane plunge into the river.
One witness who was in their car during the crash was able to capture this shocking photo of the plane minutes before hitting the river. The pilot reportedly said he had “pulled back the wrong side throttle” merely seconds prior to the event. After an engine flameout, the pilot accidentally shut down the only working engine. Tragically, the pilot’s mistake cost the lives of 43 people on board and injured 17, including two who were on the ground.
