In 1999, during an interview with Rolling Stone, the new It girl of Hollywood was asked what she thought about walking in her father’s footsteps. Her response had people speculating that there was still tension between the actress and her dad.

“I think it’s probably healthy not to put too much thought into that,” she had said. The Girl, Interrupted star opened up about her and her father’s unique relationship. “I think we speak to each other a lot though our work,” she explained.
