Dan Lauria helped complete the beloved Arnold family by playing Jack Arnold, Kevin’s gruff father. Jack brings a more conservative perspective to the show, often being baffled by the changes happening in the times around him. But that didn’t stop him from remaining one of the more memorable and beloved TV dads. Many fans were deeply upset in the show’s final episode to hear Kevin say that Jack died in 1975, with many feeling that they were robbed of hearing how Jack would have been with his future grandchildren.
