Everyone knows the character Paul Pfeiffer, Kevin’s best friend, who is present in every season. But there are a few episodes where the audience is introduced to the rest of the Pfeiffer family, including his parents. Stephanie Satie took on the recurring role of Ida Pfeiffer, Paul’s “mother extraordinaire” as Kevin referred her. Kevin enjoyed reminiscing about Ida’s good food and endearing nature, along with the rest of the Pfeiffer who represented a fairly typical Jewish family of the time.

After her time on The Wonder Years, Satie only made a few other small appearances in shows such Beverly Hills 90210 and The Practice. Leaving the world of television, Satie instead turned her career to the theater. She has appeared in numerous plays all around the country, including on and off Broadway productions. She has also written three one-woman shows herself that she stars in. Her most recent play, Silent Witnesses was met with very positive reviews by the Los Angeles theater community and in Jewish news publications.
