This is a badge that stirred up quite a bit of controversy in its hay day, and perhaps it’s because of that controversy that collectors love to seek it out. Generally a badge given out to troop members in southern states, in the mid 20th century the Dixie fellowship badge featured an image of the confederate flag. After years of complaints, the national organization officially declared in 1991 that the confederate flag would no longer be displayed on any of their insignias or at ceremonies in the south.
