Perhaps one of the more commonly known bankruptcy filers is MC Hammer – there have even be references to this in films such as White Chicks. The rapper told Oprah in an interview that his money issues were not from just throwing it away on random things. He said that he took his earnings and employed over 200 people, totaling a payroll of around a million dollars every month. Eventually it got to be too much and he filed for bankruptcy. He still owes quite a bit in back taxes.
