While the original series itself was only on for four seasons, it still made a huge impact in the TV world. It knocked The Cosby Show off its top spot in the ratings, and teenagers just couldn’t get enough of it. It eventually went on to spawn a spin off series, Saved By the Bell: The New Class, which lasted seven seasons.

It also went into syndication, and reruns of the shows were constantly played for years after it had ended, bringing in around 40 million viewers in the ‘90s.
