Although Susan Dey was second-best when it came to The Partridge Family, she soon proved that she was more than capable of proving herself for the part. Because of this, other directors and filmmakers were able to see that she meant business – and they decided to offer her major roles. One of her most notable roles in the ‘70s came when she appeared in a movie adaptation of the novel, Little Women. Susan took on the role of Josephine in this movie, which was originally intended to be a television show.
When Susan Dey made her triumphant return to television when she appeared in L.A Law, fans were overjoyed – but it seems as though this wasn’t her first acting job since coming back into the spotlight. In 1986, Susan proved she was the comeback queen when she appeared in the drama movie, Echo Park.
In this film, Susan took on the role of a young actress who spends her days working in a restaurant to pay the bills while pursuing her dream. Dey agreed to this role because she saw a lot of herself in her character.
