As one of the leading members of The Partridge Family, Susan had to show off her singing and performing skills. She was a hugely talented musician and could play the piano and even the organ, but her singing voice often came under fire. Critics were quick to deny the fact that she had the voice of an angel and believed that the creators of the show could have picked another actress with a natural singing voice. In fact, even her co-star, Shirley Jones, didn’t think her voice was good enough.
Thanks to her time on The Partridge Family, Susan Dey quickly became known as a television star – but she didn’t want to be permanently put into this box. Because of this, she decided to branch out of her comfort zone and take on a movie role in 1972. This year, she appeared in the action movie called Skyjacked.
It was a film adaptation of a book that was released in 1970, and the movie was an immediate hit. The story itself was eye-catching, but the inclusion of Susan Dey was even more appealing.
