The fascinating story of Susan Dey

As The Partridge Family struggled to keep up with the ever-changing world of television and competing shows, more and more people were turning off and turning away from the musical family. As the numbers continued to drop, ABC eventually had to make the tough decision. The Partridge Family was ultimately canceled at the end of season four, and we had to say goodbye to our friends. All in all, the show gave us a whopping 96 episodes, as well as eight albums full of their toe-tapping songs that inspired a generation.

Because The Partridge Show was so popular, CBS decided that they wanted a piece of the action and the fame. To do this, they created an animated spin-off series called Partridge Family 2200 A.D, which took place in the future. Unlike its predecessor, this animated cartoon took place on a Saturday morning rather than a weekday evening and was aimed at a whole new audience.

Although Susan Dey reprised her character for a couple of episodes, she was ultimately sacked and replaced by someone else. That had to hurt.
