In 1999, Susan Dey impressed her fans and critics once again when she took on a new role in a crime drama show. She took on a minor role in Family Law that shocked and bemused audiences at home because she looked strikingly different. For this role, she donned a new wardrobe and a new look to play a victim of crime. This meant that she was able to show off her acting skills without having people focus on her appearance or her beauty. It was all about the talent.
Although she is known for being on our screens, Susan Dey found herself in a rather different situation in 2008 when she discovered that her life and legacy had been used within a novel. An author by the name of Gwyn Cready wrote about the actress within her book, Tumbling Through Time.
She used the experiences of both Susan and Laurie Partridge to inspire her lead character and wrote about the actress with a loving and humbling tone. The book was a huge success and once again thrust Susan into the spotlight.
