Although the Sphinx is an incredible piece of engineering, many experts suggest that it wasn’t finished – and they’ve even suggested that whoever built it left in a hurry.

When archeologists Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner uncovered their own secrets of the Sphinx, they discovered that there were numerous items lying around the building site. There were open toolboxes, stone blocks that looked ready to be used, as well as packed lunches that seemed to be abandoned. This has led many people to question what the Sphinx would have looked like if it were finished.
