It’s hard to truly understand what life in Ancient Egypt was like, but many experts have been able to put together the pieces and come to their own conclusion.

The famous archeologist, Mark Lehner, suggests that during the construction process of the Sphinx, the kingdom was ruled by a feudal system. This system means that everyone who lived under the Pharaoh would have to do their duty to their kingdom – and this meant putting in the hard work. It’s believed regular citizens built this structure on a rotating shift basis.
