There’s something magical about the 4th of July scene, and you’re not the only one who feels it. Tom Guiry said it was one of his favorite scenes to shoot. It was filmed at what they call “magic hour” when the sun was going down, and the kids seemed to feel there was magical quality in the air as well. He later said in an interview, “When we’re all watching the fireworks… even though there wasn’t any dialogue, it’s great to see all of the kids’ faces. Just really brings back memories.”
