Dan was terrified that he would lose the case and never get to see Diggy again. Moving from the town wasn’t going to be an option, especially since Dan and his girlfriend had finally just bought their dream home with their savings. The police had seemed resolute in their decision, so unless an order came from someone higher up, they might be stuck. The question of Diggy’s fate was hanging in the balance, and Dan wasn’t sure if he could get him home.

After working with his lawyer, and fighting back and forth with the police department and the court, a decision was finally made. The verdict? Diggy was allowed to stay! Dan and his girlfriend were beyond thrilled, and overwhelmed by emotion. After everything they had gone through they now knew that Diggy absolutely belonged to them. At long last, they could go back to the shelter and bring their beloved pup home. Hooray for Diggy!

But of course Dan knew that he wasn’t the only one who was going to be excited to hear the happy news. He quickly took to Facebook to write, “We get to keep our boy. He’s a good boy.” Diggy’s fan club was beyond thrilled and were so happy to share in their win. For many, they didn’t see this just as a single victory, but also as an important step forward in changing the law that got Diggy in trouble in the first place. It was a win for everyone.
