As far as Dan was concerned, Diggy was his family member now, and he wasn’t going to turn his back on the pup. Dan decided that if necessary, he would go to court and fight for Diggy to be returned to him. So, Dan and his girlfriend hired a lawyer and got to work trying to figure out how they could petition the court. People were thrilled that Dan wasn’t giving up, and they wanted to offer their support.

Diggy and Dan’s online supporters started a petition pleading with the court to return Diggy to his forever home. But many of their supporters weren’t willing to just stop there. People were appalled that the law discriminating against pit bulls existed, and they wanted to fight to get it changed so that no dog like Diggy would ever have to face losing their home. As far as they were concerned, something had to change in this town.

Dan was so grateful for all the support that people were giving him, and it helped knowing that people were in his corner. The petition that was created in Diggy’s honor ended up receiving over 100,000 signatures, which was more than they ever could have hoped for. Dog lovers everywhere were united in their goal to help Diggy, and the numbers just kept growing from there. Hopefully, the support would bode well for Dan’s court case.
