In Vietnam, the military consists of many different branches all working together. The Vietnam People’s Public Security and the Army have teamed up, while the Vietnam Civil Defense Force is there in case the Army needs extra assistance. The People’s Army, therefore, consists of the Ground Forces, Air Force, Navy, Border Defense Force, and the Coast Guard. Altogether these branches have a staggering 482,000 personnel which is nothing compared to their 3 million in reserve. Vietnam also states that any man able to fight must serve a 2 year conscription.
