Back in 1945, Korea split into the north and the south. It was then that the Republic of Korea Armed Forces were formed who have quickly grown to one of the largest militaries in the world. To date, 625,000 personnel are serving in the military, in addition to having 3.1 million people in reserve. 1,000 South Koreans are currently deployed across the United Arab Emirates, Somalia, Lebanon, and South Sudan. As well as their incredible size, South Korea also has some of the best equipment and training around.
