Turkey wins the prize for the longest-serving armed forces as the military has existed since 209 BCE. Although that seems impressive, their current Air Force, Navy, and Army have only existed in their current state since 1920. They have one of the largest militaries as Turkey currently has over 510,000 personnel with nearly 380,000 in reserve. The country has a much higher military age as you can’t sign up until you’re 21. Your conscription is also decided by your education as you could be serving from 6 months to a year.
