They’re also quite flummoxed by the way Americans refer to any post-high school institution as “college.” In their eyes, Harvard University should be called just that – a university.
However, what they don’t realize is that when Americans say college they aren’t just referring to the school itself. They are referring to college culture, and that particular time in their life. University a school may be, but if it knows how to party, it’s a college in their eyes.
